WE HAVE A WINNER!

By Amanda Whitley — April 20, 2011

One lucky HerCanberra reader is set for a very special weekend from Friday 13 to Sunday 15 May thanks to Walirryuna – Radiant Sun Yoga.

They’ll be spending the weekend revitalising their inner energy in an idyllic seaside setting at Broulee. That’s two whole nights and days where they can revel in that sense of connection between mind and body and just leave everything else behind.

And the winner is…Bev (according to Random.org whose True Random Number Generator selected Bev’s assigned number of 18)!

Bev wrote, “I am a working Mum who has had high stress over the last 18 months, moved states twice in that time and need some me time.”

Congratulations, Bev! Your wonderful weekend away is valued at $390 and includes: two hatha vinyasa yoga classes per day (Saturday and Sunday);  guided meditations on Friday and Saturday evenings; a wellness seminar on healthy mindsets for energy, positivity and motivation; two nights quality accommodation at Oaks Ranch and Country Club (twin share); and all meals with a focus on fresh, healthy food and vegetarian options available; and more!

There will also be free time during the weekend to enjoy any of the optional extras (not included in your prize), including: massage, wellness coaching and nutritional profiling, kayaking tours, snorkelling tours and horse trail riding. Or you can enjoy a trip to the beach, bushwalking, tennis, golf, or just relax!

You’ll be in good hands with qualified, experienced yoga teacher Catherine Potter. Catherine went to her first yoga class as a teenager 35 years ago, has been practising yoga regularly for the last ten years and teaching since 2007. She did her teacher training in hatha and vinyasa flow yoga with Yoga Trinity.

If you didn’t win, you can still enjoy the Radiant Sun Yoga retreat, by booking now. The retreat is really great value and a fantastic way to spend a couple of days – why not get some friends together and make it a special weekend away?

A special something extra

Yvette’s entry touched the hearts of many readers. She wrote: “Even though I am a mum of four boys, have a hubby that travels often and would love a retreat away, I would like to enter to donate the prize to a very good friend. Not only is she currently undergoing chemo for breast cancer she has recently lost her 14 year old son due to a tragic accident. If anyone needs a retreat it’s her.”

Well, Yvette didn’t win, but we have arranged a special yoga experience for her friend, and it’s perfectly suited for someone battling cancer.

Thanks to our friends at Simplicity Retreats, we’d like to offer Yvette’s friend a place at the Nurturing Yoga Retreat – a special one-day retreat in a peaceful hideaway surrounded by nature, where she can take time out and be nurtured with gentle, flowing yoga. The retreat provides a gentle practice to rid of tiredness and leave you feeling positive, relaxed and uplifted.

This special lady will be treated to relaxation, meditation, flowing yoga, strengthening postures, breathing exercises and a delicious vegetarian buffet lunch. We hope that it gives her some much needed time out.
